Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
This Mir was knotted in India; originally Mir rugs were knotted in Iran.
Mir rugs are knotted in the mountainous area in and around Arak, in western Iran.
Characteristic for a Mir is the contemporary design, called Boteh or Paisley pattern, a droplet shape with the tip pointing in one direction.
A Mir often has a continuous pattern, but some have a medallion and corner patterns.
