Beautiful vintage Seiko from October 1985 with the automatic Hi-Beat movement. This is the rectangular model with a matte dark blue dial and day-date indicator. The blue colour changes with the incidence of light, a wonderful feat. The Seiko logo and hour indices are overlaid and the tritium has beautifully discoloured over the years. The stainless steel case measures 19 x 33 mm, so the watch wears relatively large for its type. The original steel strap with Z525 end links has little stretch and is suited for wrists of up to 17.5 cm. The automatic 2906 movement runs fine and winds well, both via the crown and movement of the wrist. The time adjustment and quickset date function also work well, and the date neatly jumps over at 12 o'clock. The day indication is in English and German. The maintenance history is unknown, so a servicing is recommended. These Hi-Beat Seiko watches are very collectible pieces and will only increase in value.
