This beautiful cow’s bell was cast by Fonderie de cloches Obertino. Since 1834, bronze bells have been cast in this family business. Still with the age-old craft techniques. See photos 4 - 6. On photo 1a the company can be seen at the beginning of the 20th century. On the logo sign above the door behind the name Obertino the letter C can be seen, the letter C can also be seen on this bell, see picture 2. This bell comes from the beginning of the 20th century. The bells can be personalised on request. This bell is an example of this because the bell is beautifully decorated with a picture of a cow. Presumably made to order by a wealthy French farmer. The bell is 7 cm wide and 30 cm high with a double leather strap with a large beautifully decorated bronze clasp. The leather strap is connected to the bell via a metal bracket that is cast in the bronze. The bell has a diameter of 16 cm and is 12 cm high. The bronze is 5 mm thick. Large bronze clapper. The bell gives a beautiful, enduring sound. The cowbell has really been used and has gotten a beautiful patina due to the weather conditions. You will not encounter a similar design as this one any time soon, and this one could very well be the showpiece in your home.
